After working at Shrublands for more than 20yrs it was a bit of a daunting prospect to have to find another job or something to bring in the pennies, so it was a great relief when, on the day the announcement was on the front page of the local paper, Gilmour Pipers Osteopathy practice contacted me with the offer of a Studio within their building. It was the first decent nights sleep Lyn and I had for several nights!!! I really loved working at Shrublands and I miss not only the staff but also many of the regular guest s, although I’m lucky that many of my regular client who came to me as outpatients followed me to Gilmours, indeed it was a strange experience, we had a week off when the Clinic closed and then the following week to work at Gilmours with manly the same people----same people -different venue.

I suppose the one person from Shrublands I miss more than anyone is Lady Julia de Saumerez, the clinic founder. I was actually privileged to work quite a lot with her , not only because she would come and workout in the gym but also because she would often get me to see her personally re exercises etc for clients she had concerns over.

My life now is nicely busy, not only do I have the Studio but I have also just launched a website teaching Pilates exercises---www.pilatesmann.com
